Tile Spacers

WHAT IS Tile Spacers?

Tile spacers are small, plastic devices that come in a variety of sizes, used during tile and stone installation. They are inserted between tiles or stones during installation to ensure that the gaps between them are consistent and uniform. Tile spacers are available in different sizes, typically ranging from 2mm to 10 mm. Their primary uses include creating clean grout lines, preventing tiles from shifting before the adhesive sets, and allowing space for expansion and contraction, which prevents cracking over time.

What size Tile spacers should I use?

Selecting the right size of spacers is generally a task left down to personal preference. As such, it is recommended to test out the spacers before use to see what suits your job best. As long as the job is completed and looks professional, that is what matters.
The most popular sizes for tile jobs are 2mm to 10mm. Smaller spacers (e.g. 2mm) are often preferred for a sleek, tighter look, especially for wall tiles. Larger spacers (e.g. 8–10mm) are more suitable for floors, allowing for stronger grouting and room for tile movement
